JanteOnline.ro is an online store specializing in wheels and tires, built on WordPress + WooCommerce and optimized to handle over 25,000 products without performance compromise. The platform integrates an automatic product feed import and update system from 6 different sources (API and FTP), ensuring continuous synchronization with supplier stocks.

The main feature is the intelligent car configurator which contains a database with over 250+ car brands, models, generations and engines. The system automatically provides accurate recommendations for wheel and tire sizes based on the customer's selected car, eliminating confusion and drastically reducing order errors.

Challenge & Solution

Challenge:
Managing a catalog of over 25,000 products (wheels and tires) with frequent stock updates from 6 different suppliers, each with their own feed format (API, FTP, CSV, XML). Customers struggled to select the right products for their cars, needing complex technical guidance regarding dimensions, PCD, ET and other specifications. Standard WooCommerce cannot efficiently handle such a large product volume without major optimizations.

Solution:
We developed an automatic import and synchronization system that processes feeds from 6 different sources (REST API, FTP, CSV, XML) and updates products in real-time without manual intervention. We created an intelligent car configurator with a database of 250+ brands, models, generations and engines that automatically provides accurate recommendations for wheels and tires. The WooCommerce template was heavily optimized (query optimization, lazy loading, advanced caching) to handle 25,000+ products with <3 second load time. The filtering system was completely rewritten for maximum performance.

Feed Import System

Multi-Source Integration

The system processes 6 different feeds, each with its own access method:

  • REST API: Direct connection for suppliers with modern API (3 sources)
  • FTP/SFTP: Automatic download of CSV/XML files from FTP servers (2 sources)
  • File Upload: Manual upload for suppliers without automation (1 source)

Intelligent Processing

Universal feed parser that normalizes data from various formats (JSON, XML, CSV) into WooCommerce structure. Automatic custom field mapping, technical data validation (PCD, ET, CB), duplicate detection and conflict resolution when the same product comes from multiple suppliers.

Automatic Updates

Cron jobs configured to check feeds at scheduled intervals (every 6 hours for API, daily for FTP). Incremental update only for modified products (not complete re-import). Automatic rollback in case of critical error and email notifications for administrators.

Intelligent Car Configurator

Comprehensive Database

Custom database with 250+ car brands (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Dacia, Ford, etc.), each with complete models, generations (including facelifts) and detailed engines. Over 15,000 unique car-engine configurations with exact OEM specifications.

Automatic Recommendations

Based on selection (brand → model → generation → engine), the system automatically displays OEM dimensions for wheels (diameter 15"-22", width, PCD, ET, CB) and tires (width, profile, diameter). Includes alternative variants (plus-sizing, minus-sizing) with technical explanations.

Integrated Filtering

After selecting the car, the catalog automatically filters to show ONLY compatible products. Visual badges "Compatible with your car" and clear explanations about differences from OEM (if applicable). Drastically reduces returns due to incompatible products.
